Psychotherapeutic Counselling

My first career was in people development, managing change in the corporate sector. I witnessed individual differences in capacity for change, and saw the value of supplementing mentoring and coaching with a therapeutic approach.

I went on to work in the not-for-profit sector, in various advice, advocacy and mentoring roles and have experience supporting carers and families with mental health problems (both functional & organic), including parent carers and older people. I have an awareness of neurodiversity and the impact on relationships and emotional wellbeing.

I qualified with a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy from York St John University in 2014, undertaking placements with an addictions service and a community counselling agency. I’ve worked as a case manager and counsellor for a wellbeing at work provider, and as an affiliate counsellor for several EAPs (Employment Assistance Programmes).

As a Registered and Accredited* Member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy I am committed to a professional code of practice - please see the BACP Ethical Framework for further information.

* BACP accreditation is a further quality standard for the experienced practitioner who has demonstrated high standards of competent and ethical practice.
